Hockett Genome

Main information

Part of the barley pan-genome, containing chromosome-scale sequence assemblies of 20 diverse varieties of barley. Hockett is a two-rowed dry land variety that was developed by Montana State University (MSU) in 2008. Hockett has a higher yield and better malt quality given dry land conditions. It is susceptible to lodging and stripe rust.
